Accepted Solution

Re: Windows Live mail - Unable to send mail

Please post all settings you are using.

Try using these for POP.

Incoming server: Mail.comcast.net

Outgoingbserver:  SMTP.comcast.net

Incoming Port 995 with SSL ON

Outgoing Port 465 with SSL ON

This server requires Authentication checked

Do not check SPA ( secure password authentication

If using IMAP:

Incoming port is 993 with SSL ON

INCOMING SERVER is IMAP.comcast.net

All other settings are the same as they are for POP server.

Similar problem. Windows 10, windows live mail. I first set this up using IMAP as described on this site. Got it all in and when first opened said it had to download files from server. I hit the download and in a minute or so a window popped up saying the server had unexpectedly terminated the connection. I called Comcast and was told the Comcast server would not share files with windows live and I should try reinstalling. Did so with same result. So I found this post and followed the inputs. Got files and incoming mail but it will not send because the server rejected the senders email address. I confirmed all the entries are in accord with this post. Any suggestions?
