Unable to send or receive messages for the Comcast (swacht1946) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'mail.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

Here are the settings for WLM:


Incoming server: mail.comcast.net

Incoming Port: 995 with SSL. ON


Outhoing server:  SMTP.comcast.net

Outgoing Port: 465 WITH SSL  ON

Do NOT. Check SPA  ( secure password authentication

Need Email Help? Please post the following information in your post.
Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version?
Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X
Details of the problem you are having.

I have used your recomendation - again with no success. I had this computer in to the Geek Squad for virus removal/update. Windows 10 was not installed per my request. Widows Live mail worked at the store and one time at home - then quit.

Any other recommendations? Comcast problem?

I can send and receive with xfinity mail - but there are other things I use with Windows Live Mail.

From old school - new is not easy.
