Windows 8.1 compatibility with Comcast service

I have 2 new Surface Pro 3, Windows 8.1, and comcast.  I have significant compatibility issues: not able to download PDFs, blank pages when searching/connecting, log ins to websites fail to name a few.  I don't know what to change- the service, the computer, or the operating system.  Any suggestions?

I really does not matter to Comcast what computer or OS that you use.

You have computer problems that will require much more info to try to help you.

You do need to provide us with a bit more information.

You say you're unable to download PDF's.  You mean you really can't download them or aren't able to open them?  There is a difference there.  If you can't open a PDF, you probably need to install Adobe Reader or another reader that will open PDF's.

What do you mean that login to websites fail?  Are you saying that when you insert your username and password you're not able log in?  Do you get an error message?  If so, what is the meaage?

Are you connecting to the internet wirelessly or connected directly to the modem?  When you get a blank page are you refreshing the search and then the webpage you want comes up?
