Unanswerable request from Comcast

Unanswerable request from Comcast

Comcast keeps asking me to answer three questions in oder to aid in the recovery of password etc. The problem is that the first question asks for an user ID but cannot use my comcast.com ID---It is the only one that I have therefore I can not comply with this part of their request. The second problem is they want me to supply my cell phone number, something that I do not have or want. Two of the three questions I can not answer nor does there appear to be any why of letting Comcast know this so that they will stop annoying me with the request. I have tried calling and get nothing but a request to go to a Comcast web site, which doesn't let me address this problem. Does anyone have an idea how I can get someone at Comcast to address this anoying request?

Hi clm1234 -- You should be able to use an alternate email address as well if you don't have an alternate user ID. Are you still having issues getting around this password recovery request?

I appreciate the answer but it doen't help as I do not have but one e-mail address and no alternate ID. I am an occasional user of the computer and do not have an interest in additional addresses. I am just upset that I can not  contact a live person at Comcast. The request crops up several times a month. The only thing I seem to be able to do is click on " contact me later" and that buys me several weeks of no message. Thanks anyways

My apologies for the inconvenience, clm1234. An alternative email and a cell phone number help to protect your account. In case if password reset is required - the email/text sends to your alternative email address or cell phone. Before it used to be only one layer of protection - Security Question, which in some cases can be guessed.
