Unable to send email from iPhone 5S

Unable to send email from iPhone 5S

This problem just started in the last week, after I changed my email account password.  I can receive email messages on my iPhone, but cannot send them.  I get this error message

Cannot Send Mail

The user name or password for "SMTP:firstname.lastname@comcast.net@smtp.comcast.net" is incorrect.

I have my outgoing mail server settings as follows:

Host Name:  smtp.comcast.net

User Name:  firstname.lastname@comcast.net

Password:  ********** (yes, I have verified it many times!)

Use SSL

Authentication  Password

Server Port 465

I can receive and send email just fine from the Comcast client.  Same with Outlook 2013 on my laptop.  This was after the change to my password.  Just can't do it on the iPhone.

Any suggestions?

Check out these screenshots.  You have to change the password in two places------------

Does that help?

Re: Unable to send email from iPhone 5S

I have done the password in both places.  Have done everything as pictured on this link you sent (actually found that link on the forums myself!).

About a week or so ago, I got a JunkMail/Spam message that listed my Comcast email account as the sender.  It also sent to about 8 people in my Contacts.  I did not send this message that had a link in it.  That is when I took action to change my password on my Comcast account, since it appeared my account was hacked.

I am able to send and receive email from the Comcast web browser and using Outlook 2013 on my laptop.  I can only receive email on my iPhone.  Cannot send email on my iPhone.

Is there something someone at Comcast needs to do to remove this account from some Security hold?  Maybe it was detected as hacked account?

Then the only thing I can think of is to call Comcast security and have them look at your account-----------------
