Unable to send e-mail - Socket Error: 10013

The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10013

Accepted Solution

Re: Unable to send e-mail - Socket Error: 10013

See  this link which is a stickie at the top of the email forum.  Comcast has stopped using port 25, so you must reconfigure Windows Live mail to use 465 or 587 with SSL on.  Details are in the link.
