Trouble creating username when adding additional user

Our business tagline has also been our Comcast email address. This morning we slightly changed the tagline and wanted to change the email address as well. Fortunately, we had not sent or received emails in this new email address. Decided in that event it was safe to remove the user and did.

 

When I attempted to set up the new user with a variation of the old user name, I received this message:

 

Error while submitting: A user on your account already has that username or full name.

 

The difference between the two names is slight, very slight. The username removed was coolmusic10. The new username being rejected is coolmusicstuff.

 

Anyone have an explanation or remedy? Thanks in advance for your time.

If you're a business class customer, you need to be posting in the business class forums.

We are not a business class customer. If we were, we'd be in the right forum. Our account is a simple residential account and our teeny tiny cottage industry has always been a user under our simple residential account. 

 

Now that that's out of the way, have any ideas about how to fix this?
