Scam to get personal information

Scam to get personal information

Scam to get personal information

In the past few weeks I have received a number of emails from financial instituions asking to update personal data. I know these are scams since the emails are from a Comcast account not the financial institution. The lastest was supposedly from a credit union that did not give its name. I guess my question is has Comcast beeen hacked to get our Comcast email addresses? This has to be a Comcast problem?

Re: Scam to get personal information

There's been no hack that I'm aware of.  Some scammer just got a hold of your email address most likely.  There are a number of ways they could have found it, including just brute guessing it.  You can report such phishing attempts here-------------
