Why do I have 227 messages since March 25 that are spam when I have not given out this email address to one single business or person. Has Comcast Xfinity sold it or given it out?

No, Comcast doesn't sell email addresses.  There are a number of ways spammers can get your email address, including by just brute guessing it.  Not using or giving out an address helps some, but is no guarantee that yours won't wind up on a spammer's list by some other means.  There's plenty of information on the web about how spammers get their information.  In the meantime, the only thing you can do is keep marking junk that gets to the Inbox as Spam to help train the filters.
