Returning new computer - deleting email history

Am going to return new laptop and have all my email history located on it. How do I get rid of them without deleting from comcast. I need to keep all records for other computers.

Re: Returning new computer - deleting email history

If you are using an email client on the laptop like Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail or some other, go into the settings for it and disable the account, then remove/uninstall the client.  That should remove the client and anything you had in it.  To play it safe, go into the account first, pick a couple of emails to delete and see if they stay on the server;  they should if you disabled the account.  You didn't say if you're using POP or IMAP.

ETA:  I just tried it with one of my Comcast secondary accounts in Mac Mail.  I deleted the account from Mail, then checked the webmail and it was fine.  Nothing missing.
