Required to use the new version of Xfinity connect?

Required to use the new version of Xfinity connect?

Could not figure out how to insert this ? into the other thread re: new webmail. I did not see it answererd.  ARE WE REQUIRED to use this new Xfinity Connect webmail system?  And will we be notified when it is going to change?  Right now I would like to forward to another account all my saved mail in folders so I do not lose it, but given the current outage on May 15 in the e-mail receiving issues, I really can't do much. I did export my address book to my hard drive.  So is this going to just happen overnight and be a surprise?   I don't llike Comcast's surprises.  They are usually not good ones.
