Lately, EVERY website I connect with, gets me redirected somwhere else.  My chosen site is connected, but not on screen.  I actually connect with my chosen site, and even begin scrolling, and suddenly, get redirected.  What can be done to block this activity?  I am getting VERY frustrated.

Thanks, mbatte

Re: Redirection

Hi mbatte,

There are several possibilities responsible for your browser redirects, none of them good and some worse than others: you could be dealing with a hijacked browser or a virus.malware infection. But don't despair. You could run a Google search concerning redirection and get many options on how to deal with it or you could follow the advice as mentioned here in this sticky post: https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Anti-Virus-Software-Internet/Where-to-Seek-Malware-Removal-Assistance/...

But, if you're not a real geek with a computer, chances are you could use some assistance. I have just the answer. Smiley Happy

There are several legitimate security websites that offer FREE malware removal by TRAINED MALWARE REMOVAL EXPERTS. ALL these experts receive similar training via U.N.I.T.E. - Unified Network of Instructors and Trusted Eliminators (https://uniteagainstmalware.com/).

Each of these websites will ask you to do the same thing:

  1. Visit the website and create a new account (takes a minute or less).

  2. Download and run FRST (Farbar Recovery Scan Tool)

  3. Post the logs from the scan.

  4. Wait for a trained expert to look at your logs.

Once the expert has reviewed your scan logs he/she will guide you through step-by-step instructions to remove the malware and stay with you until your system is clean.

Please pick one of the sites I've listed below and follow the simple instructions:
