each topic you search includes a list of different sites. when you can hi-light the ones youve already searched, it helps. all it used to do was change the color of the topic/company etc.

It sounds like something changed in your browser.  You might try re-setting it to it's original specs.  How you do that depends on which one you're using.  A re-set will clear out the cache and browsing history too.  You will also have to re-install any extensions or plug-ins you have.  You might want to back up your bookmarks/favorites before you do a re-set.
