I have this same error.  I can connect to my wireless router, but I can not get anything through the internet.  When renew it says media disconnected.  I also see that I have IPv4 and IPv6.

Please post your specific details.  OS, output of ipconfig /all, model of router and its Status page, cable modem model, signal levels from http://192.168.100.1 and anything else that seems pertinent.
