Outlook iMap account automatically moves email to Trash at the end of the day

After a clean install of widows 10 from Win 8.1 and reinstalling Office 2016 Professional on HP Envy laptop, Outlook automatically moves emails received in iMap account through the day to Trash each evening/early morning.  My Comcast email Preferences for Deletion Schedule is: Inbox(unread) –Never, Inbox (read)-Never, Sent-Never, Spam-7 days, Trash-30days.

I’ve tried all combinations of Deleted Items options in Outook:

  • Mark items for deletion but do not move them automatically – On & Off (On doesn’t result in a strikethrough)
  • Purge items when switching folder while on line. – On & Off

What could be the reason for my email to move to trash at the end of the day in iMap account?  This didn’t occur with POP account.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Disable the account in Outlook.  Now see if the problem continues using only the webmail UI.  If it works OK with only the webmail, then your issue is with Outlook.
