Outlook Express IMAP Server Keeps Terminating - Message

I keep getting the message below when I click on Send/Receive emails in Outlook Express 6.0 SP2.  I'm using an old WinXP SP3 machine.  I recently (as in today) changed over from POP3 servers to IMAP servers so as to synchronize with my other WiFi devices and, now I keep getting this message.

 

Message:

 

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: '&myname', Server: 'imap.comcast.net', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: '', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

You might want to take a look at this-------------

Outlook Express is badly outdated, and increasingly unstable.  You might want to consider using a more up to date client like Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail.

Given the age and OS of your computer, you might want to take a look at past versions of Email clients that might work better for you.

 

oldversion.com has a number of clients and versions you can check out.
