Outlook 2016 Connection

Outlook 2016 Connection

1.  We have tried configuring both POP3 and IMAP.  At this point I would be happy with either one working.

2.  We have Norton Internet Security Installed.

3.  Outgoing Server (SMTP: 587with TLS encrypted connection.

4.  Incoming Server (IMPAP) 993 with SSL encrypted Connection.

I can send emails. I cannot receive emails.

With a little more sleuthing on my end, I have discovered that years ago, when we first setup an Xfinity/Comacast email account, Comcast set it up with an administrator account (of which I am the administrator and know the id and password).  Then they set our home account up under that.  It seems that when we try to connect to the home account, it will not let us sign in unless it is the administrator account and that administrator account has no emails.  Outlook will not let us sign in to our regular email account where all our emails are currently sitting.  We receive an error message.  I am able to sign into it online with no problem.  I have now been online with Xfinity tech support twice (total of approximately 4 hours).   I am hoping that one of you wonderful people will be able to figure it out.

Also, I thought that I could delete the current Outlook account that Xfinity Tech Support tried to set up, but Outlook will not let me delete it.  Any thoughts on how to either delete and start over or how to connect?

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Try these settings:

Incoming server: imap.comcast.net

Authentication ON

Incoming Port:  993 with SSL ON

Outgoing server: smtp.comcast.net

Outgoing Port:

465 with SSL ON

Re: Outlook 2016 Connection

That still did not work.  Any more suggestions?  I appreciate the help!
