Outlook 2010

Can't transfer existing Outlook 2010 files (e.g., sent, saved, etc.) from att.net to comcast.net - & half my life is in those files!  HELP...

Re: Outlook 2010

Don't panic.  As I understand it, AT&T lets you keep the email account active even after you cancel their service.  It's actually a Yahoo account under the hood.  Call AT&T to make sure before you cancel, and ask for instructions.

Re: Outlook 2010

Because my past history with ATT has been SO difficult, I elected to e-chat instead of call, so that I could print a transcript - & it was a good thing I did.  The 'tech rep' was totally mindless, actually gave me wrong info re: transfer, cancellation & modem return.  I took the transcript to the local ATT store & insisted they take the modem (an old DSL modem that ATT doesn't even want back) & recycle it - & give me a receipt.  Re: my transfer question, I ended up manually dragging files (storage files dragged in folders but in/sent boxes required dragging bundles of individual emails: tedious - but it got the job done.  As for ATT, I am ecstatic to be free of them!
