Help, I lost access to Exfinity Connect last night. The base Exfinity page with all the junk opens fine but I can not open the in-box ~ the page does not open, only the little spinner on a white screeen.

Try clearing out your browser's cache/browsing history. When you have done that, close out the browser and re-start it in a fresh session.

If that doesn't do it, then try using a different browser and see if you can duplicate the problem that way. If it works OK then you will know the problem probably lies with the first browser. eg: if you are using Internet Explorer, try Chrome or Firefox.

Re: No e-mail

I've cleared everything, re-booted ~ nothing but a blank screen. I'm on Firefox because Explored no longer works.

I see 22 e-mails waiting. Using Windows XP. I know it's old but so am I.

Re: No e-mail

I had the same issue with Firefox yesterday, only by switching to Chrome did it open.

Re: No e-mail

I've never been able to get Chrome to work.

Re: No e-mail

I can't tell who's reply I'm replying to ~ sorry.

I have no clue what Winfows I have  or which Firefox.

Maybe I can redirect all Comcast mail to Outlook? That works.

Contributor

Re: No e-mail

Hmm, I need e-mail access to redirect. I'm screwed on this end.

I used to be able to do this before my surgery, now I'm clueless.

Getting old is no fub.

That said I would uninstall Google Chrome then download the latest version. If you can't find the icon it will look like a red-yellow-green pinwheel with a small blue center.

Re: No e-mail

OK, I'm on Windows 5.1

Still working on which Firefox but I think I updated recently.

Re: No e-mail

No time to deal with ths now ~ tomorrow.

Thanks

Re: No e-mail

Not Outlook Express, that is no longer supported (What I had). Outlook dot COM for e-mail service. I hate it but it works.

Re: No e-mail

Can you sign into your Comcast email at all right now?

First you could check to see if the Google Chrome browser is already installed. Click on the windows start icon - lower left, choose control panel, then programs. You can sort alphabetically and if Google Chrome is there then go back and search for it in windows or look for the icon on your desktop screen. If it's there I would "right click" the icon and "run as administrator". If it's not  there or doesn't open then do a google search and download it again.

Re: No e-mail

I'm on my Xfinity home page with the E-Mail tabs which lead me to a white screen with the endless spinner. I have no access to anything E-Mail.

Re: No e-mail

OK try using the mobile version:  Go to the address bar (not the search bar) in XP, and type m.comcast.net/m    then hit enter on the keyboard.  Click on Email at the top of the list, and it should take you to the sign-in screen.  See if you can get in that way.  It's very basic but it should work.

Re: No e-mail

Right then.  As another poster upthread suggested-------download a more current version of another browser like Chrome or Firefox.

Another option---------download one of the free email clients like Mozilla Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail.  Set the account up in that and you should be good to go.

But even before you do that------go to the public library, get on one of their computers and see if you can sign into your account from there.  Or maybe from the home of a friend, relative or neighbor who has internet and see if you can get onto your account from there.  Comcast is webmail, and you should be able to sign into it from any internet connection you can get at.  If you can get on from another computer it will confirm that the problem is not with your account, but something else in your set-up.

I have to say though, that using XP may be part of the problem in your case.  It shouldn't be, but I have to admit that it might be the case.

Re: No e-mail

I'll try at the senior center tomorrow. All my addresses are on comcast. I have Outlook dot com e-mail redirecting to comcast but it's got few addresses. Can I import from there?

I've always had my base e-mail address on Comcast. This account has to stay operational.
