New computer

I just got a new computer, and I can not send emails from it.  I still can send them from my old computer, what do I have to do to change this?

Re: New computer

Please provide more details. There are a lot of reasons why you can't send mail but no one can help you if we don't have the all-important details which will help pin down the problem.

What operating system is the new computer?

Are you using an email client (Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, etc)?

If you are using Windows 10 or Windows 8 are you using the built in mail application?

Are you getting any error messages when you try to send email? If so, what is the error you received? If it shows your email name xxx out the part before comcast.net

Have you checked the settings on your old computer and compared them to the settings on the new one?

Re: New computer

I am using Windows 10 Home, Micosoft, 64 bit

Using comcast.net email Internet Explorer

I'm not sure what else to put on this list.

I will check the settings on my other computer, that might be the problem.  I am not that puter savey, but know enough to get by.  Thank you for the help.

Exactly what happens when you try to send an email using the Comcast webmail UI?

We need to know HOW you access your Comcast email. Are you using Xfinity Connect, which is web mail and reached by going to the Comcast home page and clicking the EMAIL link?

This is webmail (using Xfinity Connect full version. The lite version does not have the New, Get Mail, Reply, etc. toolbar)

Since you are having trouble sending mail I suspect you are using an email client. If you are we need to know the name of the client and the version. You can open the client, look for HELP somewhere at the top. Click HELP. If you see ABOUT click that and take note of the version number.

This is an example of an email client, which you have to download, install and configure to work with the Comcast mail server. An icon for the client is put on your desktop. You click the icon and the client opens. Are you using this type of program for your email and if so, which one? The one I use is Thunderbird.

This is the Windows 10 email app. I had to grab a screenshot from the internet.

Re: New computer

Mine is the first one you pictured.  I guess it is Xfinity the full version email.  I feel so stupid, that I cant figure this one out.

Thank you so much for being patient!

Re: New computer

Now that we have established that you are using webmail:

1) How do you know the mail is not sent?

2) When you do send, are you getting any error messages and if so what is the error?

3) Is it not sending ALL email or is it only certain addresses that it is not being sent to?

4) Anything else we should know?

5) Don't feel stupid. Sometimes even the simple things get us stumped just as much as the complicated ones do.

Re: New computer

A SCC 1905 error usually means that there is a character, or another error in the email address you are trying to send to.  Check the email addresses.
