Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

If I want multiple addresses for one contact I just need to put a space between the them like: example@aol.com example2@gmail.com example3@yahoo.com? No commas or anything else?

Is a double-click required to open email or is there a setting for that?

Thanks

Re: Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

Where is it that you want to put more than one address for a contact, in the address book?  If that is the case, you can put more than one in the contact entry, but only one will appear in the auto-fill when you start typing the name in the To: field while composing an email.  If you want them all to show in that pop-down list, you have to make a separate address book entry for each one.

Re: Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

I wanted to know the format for inputting more than one address for a contact. Some mail sites require a comma between addresses some just a space. So if I wanted to copy and paste 50 addresses into a contact's "Emails" box how would I fomat those addresses? Would a space between those addresses be correct like so: email email email email etc? iPad, for instance, requires a semicolon and space thus this format: email; email; email; etc. I know I can create a group contact but I'm interested in copying and pasting into a contact.

And do I have to double click to open emails? That seems a little retro shall we say.

Thanks.

Re: Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

I think with the Comcast address book you would use a coma.  I only have to click once to open an email on the iMac.  But don't you have some control over that in the iPad's preferences?  I don't have one so I can't advise you on that.

Re: Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

I'm on a PC. Just used iPad as an example. If you can open mail with one click so should I even if you're on a Mac. Could you look into that for me? And I actually tried a copy and paste without commas, just a space, and it seems to work, but I'd like to know if there's a properly correct format.

Thanks

Re: Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

I'm confused;  just where is it that you are trying to copy and paste 50 different email addresses for one contact?  In the address book or what?  What "email box" are you talking about?

In the Full version of Xfinity Connect, yes. They seem to use a single click as "select".

In the Lite version a single click opens the message.

Re: Multiple Addresses Contact & Opening Email

Thanks Bruce now I just want to know about the formating for multiple addresses. I created a contact with 5 addresses, separated them with just a space and emails were received properly so I suppose only a space is required. I'll try creating a new contact with commas and see what happens.
