Moving to IMAP with Outlook 2013

Moving to IMAP with Outlook 2013

I have multiple email accounts and have moved one (less used , as a test) over successfully by deleting it and setting it up again.  My main email account has numerous folders that I use for filing.  If I delete that account, will I lose all those folders and the content?  If so, is there a way around it?

Re: Moving to IMAP with Outlook 2013

Are you using POP3 on the account now in Outlook?  If so, don't delete it yet just to be sure.  Go ahead and set the same account up with the IMAP settings, and just look to see if everything is OK including your folders.  They should be there.  Then if you want to you can delete the POP version.  But it won't hurt anything if you leave it in place.
