Missing emails

The other day I had to look up a reference in an old email from 2015. After running a few searches on all of the folders in my account, I kept coming up with no hit. Further digging indicated that virtually the entire year's worth of email was nowhere to be found. I know I did not delete them. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Re: Missing emails

You need to check your deletion schedules to see how they are set.  From the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>>Email>>>>>>>Email Deletion Schedules.  You can set the Inbox read or unread to Never delete.  Does that account for the missing emails?

Re: Missing emails

Thank you for the suggestion, but being really retentive, my deletion choices are set to "never" delete. Back to the drawing board.

Re: Missing emails

Then the next question is ------do you have the account enabled on another device like a tablet or smartphone?  If so check the settings on it to see if it's downloading and then deleting the emails from the server.  If that's not it then----------------------

Aas a precaution I would change your password to something stronger than whatever it is right now, and also change your secret question and answer. Suddenly vanishing emails is a common sign of a malware infection, or a compromised account. Run a complete scan of your machine with your A/V software to see if it finds anything wrong.  You can call Comcast security and ask them to look at your account too--------------------
