Lots of Spam to my Email since joining Comcast (sold my info?)

I just signed up for Comcast internet service last week - I was in another city and using Charter previously.  Since my Comcast service began I have been receiving a steady stream of spam to my inbox. The email account I used for Comcast has never had a serious spam issue... until the last several days. Did Comcast sell my email?

Re: Lots of Spam to my Email since joining Comcast (sold my info?)

Comcast does not sell it's customer's information.  What has happened is you have gotten put on one or more spammer's lists and once that happens there is no taking it back.  Start marking them as spam when they get to the Inbox to help train the filters, which will take time.  There are many ways spammers can get your email address, including just brute guessing it with a bot, dictionary attacks and so on.  Maybe you traded emails with someone who got hacked and their address book was compromised.  Maybe it was harvested from an email you sent, or that someone sent to you.  You should find this of interest-----------------
