How do I change the default for my internet browsing?  I want to use Google but my searches keep being directed to Yahoo

Within the Browser's setting is an Area to manage search engines usually labeled SEARCH....

You can select which search engine the browser defaults to there.

Which Browser are you using?

Thank you, geek46, for your link.  Through reading that and further research, I figured out that a quick and easy way around this is to make a bookmark for Google.com and save in Favorites.

In a couple of clicks I can get to google.com.

Go to the page you want to have as your "home" (i.e. Google, Yahoo, Comcast, etc.) and then go to Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Use Current.

 

I believe this is what you are asking.  If not, please clarify.
