Interesting Spam event?

Interesting Spam event?

Hi,

I've posted about spam before and I am still dealing with it but I noticed something interesting. At 10:19am I got a spam email in my SPAM folder from "thingCHARGER" but then at 10:29am the same email arrived in my INBOX, 10 minutes. Maybe, this is nothing. If anyone at Comcast is interested in this event, please let me know. If not, just don't laugh at me. Smiley Wink

Thank you.

Re: Interesting Spam event?

My guess-------the second one had something changed in it, however minor, that got past the filters.  Could've been anything, but especially a change in the sending address.

The spam filters no doubt analyze parts of email messages that are not normally visible, like the name and IP address of the sending mail server. If the spammer sent two copies of the message through two different sources (this is common), it wouldn't be surprising if one got caught and the other slipped by.

If you compare the raw message headers using View Source you'll probably see differences that don't show up in the standard message display.
