Initial cursor position when logging to Email

A while back there was a problem getting to email login screen which lasted for a number of days. Users had to go a different path to get to their Email. The problem was fixed and when clicking on the envelope icon, rhe user was again brought to the screen where the username and password could be entered. Prior to the problem, when the screen came up, the cursor was in the username block and you could start typing your username. Now when the screen comes up, you have to manually use the mouse to position the cursor. This is an unnecessary step. It shouldn't take the programmer but a minute to rectify the problem.  Thanks in advance.
