Infinity/Safari page freezes

Infinity/Safari page freezes

When in Safari, I keep getting the "beachball" and the system is frozen.  I have a new router.  I have installed all the latest software.  I have installed the latest version of Java.  But it keeps happening unless I disable Java- which of course means I can't get comcast email etc.  Any ideas?

Re: Infinity/Safari page freezes

Did you try clearing history in Safari?  As a check, try a different browser and see if the same thing happens.

Re: Infinity/Safari page freezes

I have cleared history, caches, etc.  but i haven't tried a new browser.  Wanted to give Safari a chance first but I think it is time to leave Safari behind given the messages posted on other strings here. Thanks for replying!

Re: Infinity/Safari page freezes

i have beach balling and stalls using any version of Safari or osx or macos on the xfinity web site. I believe I got rid of this after many months of putting up with the problem. I turned off TABS in Safari. That did the trick. I eventually turned TABS back on and no issues of beach balling.
