I receive email on my phone, but why can't I send it from my phone?

After talking to Xfinity/Comcast customer service last year, email on my iphone has never worked properly. I can receive email but can't send from my phone. I deleted the account and reinstated it, but the problem remains.

Also, when dealing with customer service I think they set me up with a new user name as well as a password, as I lost access to all my old emails.

Today I confirmed a user name and password thru the Xfinity website. After I did this is when I deleted my account on my iphone and then reconnected it, Still, I can't send email from my phone, Yet I can email from Xfinity.

I'm so frustrated and don't know where to begin fixing this.

Are you getting any error message when you try to send?  If so what does it say?
