How do backup email to file

How do backup email to file

I wold like to backup my Inbox of messages to a pdf or other file. Is this an option and if so how is it done?  thanks-

The only way to do what you are describing would be to copy and paste a message into a word processor like MS Word.  Normally the best way to save/backup emails is to use a desktop email client like Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Apple Mail or some other.  That way you always have the messages on the computer and not just on the server.  This is especially true if you are backing up your system and files to an external hard drive.
