You don't have to "convert" anything. Your emails are available via either POP3 or IMAP, you just have to tell your email client which protocol you want to use.

Re: Existing e mail address with IMAP

Change your settings to the following.

Incoming Server: IMAP.comvast.net
Outgoing Server: SMTP.comvast.net
Incoming port 993 with SSL ON
Outgoing Port 465 with Ssl on
This server requires authentication checked
Do NOT check SPA(secure password authentication)

Re: Existing e mail address with IMAP

Did you mean to write comvast.net, with a "V", or is that a typo?

Re: Existing e mail address with IMAP

I use Mac Mail 8.2, OSX 10.10.2, Safari 8.0.3.  when I changed the settings, my computer automatically entered port 143 for incoming.  I changed it to 993 as you indicated in your e mail.  Not receiving any mail.  Did not clear my browser cache.
