Email problems

Email problems

I have moved to Hawaii from Spokane, WA.  Comcast does not serve the islands.  However, I can normally receive and send email via comcast, but have continuing problems - such as it drops off line while I am using my email and I lose what I was working on.  I plan on changing my email server to gmail as it does not have the same problems here in Hawaii (extended members of my family who live here have no problems with gmail).  My question is, once I have set up my new gmail account is there some way to have all my incoming comcast emails automatically forwarded to my gmail account until I have been able to notify everyone of the change?

Re: Email problems

Yes.  You can set the Comcast account to auto-forward to any email address you like.  If you are still in the old email format, from the Inbox page to to Preferences>>>>>Email>>>>>>Email Forwarding.  If you are in the new format, on the Inbox page click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then on Settings.  Under Mail you will see Auto Forward.

Make sure you keep your Comcast account active by signing into it at least once every 9 months.  Here is more information on that-------------------
