Email in my inbox is gone

Email in my inbox is gone

At the end of last week, I've started experiencing issues with my comcast.net webmail account.  Multiple (as in a MANY) emails in my inbox are gone.  Another new symptom: when I reply to an email, then that original email disappears.  I have looked for some kind of setting that could be causing the emails to be deleted, but the "preferences" button is nowhere to be found.  I can see my reply in my sent items.  And the recipient receives my reply.  The emails are not in my deleted items...not in my spam. 


My webmail verson is:  7.8.2-2 1.0-2


Also, I do have my Comcast email set up on email app on my iPhone and iPad.  Those were both set up on IMAP months ago.  And my email was syncing fine across webmail, iPhone, iPad, until the end of last week.
