Email images not displaying

Images received in an email (eg. pictures) are not displaying but only showing up as a boxed black X. Any solutions how to resolve this issue? I have tried Email settings and Preferences and nothing works.

Re: Email images not displaying

Was the image sent as a jpeg file or something else?  How big is it?

Re: Email images not displaying

The images come in as file type FILE  while others are jpeg. Usually they are about 100kb or less regardless of file type. I have IE11 and switched to Firefox and they still won't display.

Re: Email images not displaying

Hasn't anyone encountered this issue with images in their emails? There must be a setting within Internet Options, Comcast, IE11, or even Firefox that will allow these images to display in the email. I had no problem with Windows XP but more of an issue with Windows 8.1.
