Email cuts off after last month and then starts showing emails from 2 years ago backwards

Help, never deleted any email, all of sudden our email will only show emails for the last 30 days, then it skips to a point two years ago and then backwards, states we have plenty of storage, frustrated, is there something in settings that I am not seeing it is like we lost emails from a month ago backwards to two years?

Did you try re-setting the display criteria for the message list?  Right-click on any message in the list, then you will see this----------------

Message Sort Order from Message List.jpg

Set it sort by Date and see if that fixes the issue.
