Email connection

I have two email addresses and one of them has not been updated since June 26, 2015. When I try to open the email in box, I get a pop up message "EXTERNAL ACCOUNT FAILURE" XXX.com unable to connect to POP 3 server, followed by several lines of code.

When try to correct the problem, Exfinity will not allow me to change from POP 3 to IMAP, which I want. I have made nunerous calls to Comcast, but nobody know what to do.

You didn't say which email client you are using, but try deleting the account and then re-creating it and see if that fixes it.
