Email Service Disconnected after 110 Days

Email Service Disconnected after 110 Days

Comcast continues to advertise that they make your move easy!  False.

110 days after we moved to a new house, our email goes out and our email account and history disappear!  Why?   Comcast customer service says that we must have deleted our account. Really, now!  Then they ask if we had moved.  Well, yes,  more than 3 months ago.  Finally, our case is assigned to another "department".

More than 3 days pass without restoration of email.    Finally, finally, we are called back by a Comcast representative who says she has to "move" our email from our "old account" to our "new account", but this will not restore anything sent to our email address in the last four days.  The implication here is that WE should have done something to transfer our username from our "old account" to our "new account.?

We did not just transfer our service from old address to new address without the involvement of Comcast!  WHY O  WHY did no one at Comcast ever, ever tell us during our move that something would have to be done to "move" our email account.  Several Comcast people (local office rep, service technician, and "activator" of internet service at the new address, were all aware that we were establishing service at a new address and had service at our old address).   There were at least 2 visits to the local office - one a week ahead of our moving date, another a week or so after (to return boxes longer needed).  Why did no one at Comcast indicate we had to take further action? Why did they not take further action to assure continuity of service?   ("We make moving easy", says the ad.  Really?  C'mon.)

Call Comcast security to see if they can smooth out the transfer for you, including recovering emails that may have been deleted.  There is a process to transfer an email address from one location to another but it's a bit involved.  Hopefully the security folks can help you.-------------------
