Email Not Accessible 07/22 with Outlook 2013 - IMAP or POP3 - New Hampshire

I'm not able to access my email with Outlook 2013 in New Hampshire this morning.  I have used POP3 for the incoming server since day 1.  Looking at the help online, it now ways to use IMAP, as of May 29 or 2015.

It can't send or receive email for multiple email accounts.

Where are outages listed on the Xfinity website?

Thanks,

Curtis

Please post any error messages you are receiving...copy/ paste into your reply.
Are you using POP now or IMAP?
The IMAP INCOMING SERVER IS imap.comvast.net and the Invoming Port is port 993 with SSL on.

This server requires Authentication must be checked.

POP uses port 995 with SSL on for incoming server is mail.Comcast.net
SMTP ( outgoing) Port is 465 with SSL on.

Post the settings you are using.

I have attached snips of the account settings and error messages.  I've used these settings for years.  I tried to create a new one this morning using IMAP and followed the posted instructions.  It receives the same errors, and won't let me save the account.

TIA,

Curtis

Do you have this server requires authentication checked in your Settings?

Yes, I do.  I should have included that snip.

Re: Email Not Accessible 07/22 with Outlook 2013 - IMAP or POP3 - New Hampshire

I tested everything again this morning, still won't connect.  I can ping and tracert all 3 url's, mail, imap and smtp.comcast.net, but Outlook fails to connect.

I was reading about the Eudora certificate that changed, but I can't find anything like that in Outlook 2013.

Any ideas?  All similar issues that I've red about magically fixed themselves.  Will I have to hope for that too?  I'm not going to spend hours on the phone with customer service, they never resolve anything.

Patience is running out,

Curtis

I went thru Control Panel to Mail (Outlook2013), and was able to add an IMAP account and test it.  It connected to IMAP and SMTP.

But, when I then re-opened Outlook, the new account will NOT connect!! Same error messages as with the POP3 account.

What's going on?

The SMTP connection works now with the newIMP account, but I get a different error message on the incoming (IMP) server.  Outlook 2013 automatically creates a local .OST file, so it wants to sync with the server, and I now get this error message,

Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for candr.martin@comcast.net.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for candr.martin@comcast.net. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I have notified tgevAdministrator of your thread and hope that he will review and have someone from Comcast assist you with this.

Hi candrm,

We're going to need to get this to a higher fix agency. I've alerted them about your issue. They will contact you within 24-48 hours.

Thank You
