E-mail Issue - Poor Process

I would like to know why when I put in a request to transfer my comcast e-mail prior to moving, the transfer did not occur?  Instead, my personal e-mail, which I have had for years, was discontinued without any communication to me whatsoever.  I discovered this deletion when I tried to send something from work to my home e-mail.  I have now been without access to my e-mail for 4 days and I was told today it would be another 48 hours!  Huge inconvenience and this is the THIRD time (third move) this has happened to me.  All I receive are apologies from the support staff on the phone - that doesn't fix my dilemma.  I am a highly dissatisfied customer!!
