Deleting old Emails

How do I delete emails that I no longer want to keep?  For example I would like to delete all emails from 2014.

Re: Deleting old Emails

Look for the Search field in the upper right corner on the Inbox page.  Type in 2014 and hit enter.  It should bring up whatever you have left from that year in your Inbox.  Then, go to the first one in the list for 2014 and check the little box to the left of it.  Holding down the Shift key, scroll all the way down to the last one for 2014, and check it.  That should "select" all the messages in between.  Then hit the Delete button in the toolbar.  If you have a lot of them you may have to do this in batches.  The scrolling thing can be a little hinky sometimes.

Also----be careful.  When I ran the same search to research your question, I got all my 2014 messages, but at the top of the list were about 8 or 10 from this year.  I'm not sure why, but I suspect the number 2014 or just 20 or 14 may have appeared someplace in them.  But they were all grouped together, as were the ones for 2014.
