Deleting email on Android phone and not deleting email on computer

When I delete my email on my android cell phone it also deletes my email on my computer.  How can I delete it on my cell phone without deleting it on my computer?

Re: Deleting email on Android phone and not deleting email on computer

What you are describing is normal behavior when the account is enabled using IMAP.  Everything is synced so that whatever you do to a message on one device happens on the other one.  You could set up the account using POP3 instead, and then the devices are not synced.  Then you could delete on one and not the other.   Just remember that POP3 only works with the Inbox.  It also doesn't support local folders when accessing the account from another device.  The settings for IMAP and POP3 are found here-----------------------
