Deleting email message from Comcast mail server before forwarding

Deleting email message from Comcast mail server before forwarding

I realize that the Comcast mail server will tag suspicious email messages as junk mail and transmit those messages to user's junk mail inbox. Is there any way for the user to inform the Comcast mail server of messages that are sent by specific senders and instruct the Comcast mail server to delete those messages without forwarding them to client's mail program?

I use Windows Live Mail as my mail program.

Set the desired filters up on the website email site.

From the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>>>Email>>>>>>>Email Filters.  Set up a filter for the sender in question.  You can re-direct it to any folder you like including Trash.  One option is "Discard", which simply deletes the message before it ever gets to your Inbox or anywhere else.  Make sure to hit "Save" at the end.

Thank you for your response.

I accessed Comcast's Email Preferences webpage however there's no response when I click on the Email Filters EDIT command. As a matter of fact none of the listing's EDIT commands appear to be active.

Try clearing out your browser's cache/browsing history. When you have done that, close out the browser and re-start it in a fresh session.

If that doesn't do it, then try using a different browser and see if you can duplicate the problem that way. If it works OK then you will know the problem probably lies with the first browser. eg: if you are using Internet Explorer, try Chrome or Firefox.

If you are using IE 10 or 11, make sure Compatibility mode is enabled for comcast.net. You will find it in IE under "Tools".

Many thanks. Your suggestion to delete my IE browsing history did the trick. Thanks again.
