Deleted user name, still getting emails...

Hello,

 

  I recently added a user name, made it my primary email address, and forwarded all the old emails to the new one during the transition to the new email address.

  I then deleted the old email address. I'm still getting emails from the old address to the new one, mostly spam.

 

Any idea when the old email address will be permanently deleted? I assume at some point, and senders to the old address will get a "non deliverable" message or whatever.

 

  When I go to 'users' in my account, the old email address is gone.

When you delete a user ID, it is suspended for 90 days, and then released back into the pool of available IDs for any other customer who wants to claim it.  That said, the account is still running in the background---------you just can't get at it any more.  If you did not turn off the auto-forwarding before you deleted the ID, that would explain why you are still seeing those messages.  It could stop any moment, or it could run the entire 90 days.  You could try calling Comcast security and ask if they can go in and kill that ID.  I don't know if they can, but it's worth a shot--------------------
