Delete Sent Emails Older than 30 Days?

Delete Sent Emails Older than 30 Days?

Suddenly, 15 years of emails in my sent folder are GONE and only the last 30 days are there.  I've found a setting online where you can change this, but HOW IS IT POSSIBLE that Comcast changed this setting without ANY notice?  I am in shock that this arbitrary change was made.  


I double checked my wife's account and hers now are deleted (all before 12/27/16).  Is this happening to anyone else?  Does anyone have any idea if these emails can be recovered (FYI, it's an IMAP account).

If you didn't change it yourself, you need to call Comcast security and have them look at your account---------------------

 

Comcast Customer Security Assurance-------------------

Normal business hours (6:00 am to 2:00 am EST, 7 days a week)

The settings you posted are the default ones in Comcast in the old email format.  In the new format, all the default folders are set to indefinite retention except for Spam and Trash.  You mentioned IMAP-------do you have the account set up in Thunderbird, or Outlook or some other client?  If so, did the messages also vanish from there?

Yep, Outlook is my primary and that's where I first noticed it. Nothing older than 12/27.  Same when opening up Mail in OSX.  All sent email is gone from before 12/27.  So frustrating. 

 

Will have to call...thanks for the reply.
