Delete E-mail Messages

I'm trying to delete a lot of emails at one time without having to select each one individually.  How can I highlight more than one at a time so I can do that?

Hit the little box to the left of the email, continue the same way for all you which to delete, then click on the Delete icon.  To delete ALL email, check the box that shows above the emails, then click on the Delete icon.

Do you use XfinityConnect? The Full or Lite version?
Do you use an email client? Which one? (Eg; Windows Live mail, Outlook, a smartphone etc.)
Which browser/version do you use? And- have you cleared your browser cache?
Which operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X
Details of the problem you are having.
