Contacts in Address Book Disappeared After Adding New Contact

My spouse added a new contact to our Xfinity address book.  Now all the 136 contacts that were in the book previously appear blank - that is, no name, picture, information, etc.  They still appear as contacts, but they are blank.  The only contact that has all its info is the new contact that was added.  Where did they go?  I've tried to restore the Address Book to several previous dates, but I get the same results - blank entries.

To add to the mystery, when I compose an email and click on the "To", all contacts show up as usual, so I know the contacts are still in the system, but are just not viewable in Address Book.  Also, even though this situation exists on both my iMac and laptop, when I look at Xfinity on my iPad I can view the Address Book normally.

Re: Contacts in Address Book Disappeared After Adding New Contact

Try having the address book re-synced. You need to send an email to helpme@sv.comcast.com In the subject line put "Need Slow Sync of Address Book". In the body of the message describe the problem, and make sure you include the email address with the problem. It can take up to 24 hours for the re-sync to work.

The address book is actually supplied by a company called Plaxo.  In your case I would just copy and paste your post into the email.

As an aside----the auto-fill feature for the To:, Cc: and Bcc: fields is separate from the address book.  Contacts will continue to show up in it even after you have deleted them from the address book, until Comcast does a periodic account update.  They don't do it on any fixed schedule so a name could keep showing up for a long time after it's been deleted.  There is no way for you to edit that list.
