Comcast mail over 90% used

Comcast mail over 90% used

I keep e-mail on the server and delete the news/ads etc when I think of it.  Continually receive that my mail has used over 90% of the 10GB, so decided I'd search for the largest sized e-mails to see if I could delete them.  They are mostly MINE!  I send a lot of e-mail but small notes - and most show I used 1 KB per message.   That is crazy!  How can I learn about reducing the size of e-mails.  I do not use stationary/smiley faces/other images - so it is mostly text.  Thanks.

Just how many emails are we talking about here?  How far back do you have emails in your Inbox, Drafts, Sent or local folders?

Re: Comcast mail over 90% used

Thanks for asking - I am embarrased as I thought 1 KB was the LARGE files....but NOT.  I have over 35,000 back to 2011 - I truly do not want to delete them = and the only way I see to save them is to open each one, then save it as a document, then delete it.  Do you know of another way?  Many are really trivial, but it helps me recall dates/times etc.

Re: Comcast mail over 90% used

35k is really not that many compared to others I've seen in the forums.  10 Gb is a LOT of email storage.  But remember too that the size of an email includes the message itself, the headers, and any attachments.  You might want to call Comcast security and ask them to look at your account.
