Comcast mail not sending

Comcast mail not sending

My  Comcast/XFINITY  email accounts will not send mail through iPad...what the is new setting . Comcast is my service provider.

Are you getting any error message when you try to send?  Is it telling you that the user ID or password is wrong?  Or is something else going on?

I  have removed accounts and reinstalled and same problem ...my mail will not send through Comcast on my iPad....  I receive mail on iPad but I order to send a mail through my comcast accounts I have to long on to my webmail through browserThis really annoying....I've waited all day for callback but through years of dealing with Comcast I knew that wasn't about to happen.

OK I'll ask again------are you getting any error message when you try to send?  Is it telling you your ID or password is invalid?  The reason I ask is that sending problems are typically caused by incorrect set-up of the account.  

 

In iOS, you need to set the password in two places------for the incoming server, and then again for the outgoing smtp server. Did you do that? If not, to change it for the smtp server;


go to "Settings" on the home screen, then scroll down to" Mail, Contacts, Calendars", click on the account, and then on the next screen tap the "account" again. Scroll down to "SMTP" and tap that. Then tap "smtp.comcast.net". On the next screen you will see the password. Change it and then tap "Done" in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

no error message... I went in and checked all email PW and they are correct

do i set PW on iPad mail setup or on the Comcast web mail....

Went and changed all the smtp PW even though the wer already ther even changed the port to 587 but still no luck...🙁
