Comcast IMAP server timing out

Comcast IMAP server timing out

Over the past several months, many users, including myself, have reported issues with the Comcast IMAP server repeatedly timing out, seeing messages in Thunderbird that the server has disconnected, etc.

 

An e-mail application I use, includes a Network Log, which displays in real time what occurs when the e-mail application logs into a mail server.

 

Just now, there was an issue connecting to imap.comcast.net and upon opening the Network Log, the following was displayed (actual username was removed).

 

 

IMAP4> Logging <username> to imap.comcast.net using LOGIN
** IMAP error on imap.comcast.net: stream error
** IMAP4 connection broken

 

I think this is your problem.
