Cannot retrieve email I have saved to a folder using the "Move To" function. Where did it go?

Cannot retrieve email I have saved to a folder using the "Move To" function. Where did it go?

I have a number of "folders" where I used to save emails I wanted to retrieve at a later date.  Now those folder names are still in a list of folders but no emails I've sent using the Move To function or "trash" with deleted emails are there.  Do I need to change some setting (and where would that be) so these emails would be on my hard drive instead of being gone or perhaps in the "cloud!"
